'2000 for a tweet, 4000 for a reel

Music composer and singer Anirudh Ravichander has ventured into a different creative space with the release of his latest independent single, “Aravindh”. The track is available in both Tamil and Telugu and sees the chart-topping musician move beyond film music to explore pop and hip-hop influences.

The story behind “Aravindh”

At the heart of the track is a fictional alter ego named Aravindh. According to Anirudh, the character draws inspiration from his younger self before fame entered his life. More importantly, the name carries deep emotional significance for the composer. During a recent interaction with Variety India, Anirudh explained the reason behind choosing the title. He said, “I chose Aravindh as my alter-ego in honour of my best friend Aravindh who isn’t with me anymore.”

Composer questions viral social media culture

Through the lyrics, Anirudh takes a critical look at the growing culture of paid promotions and artificially manufactured online popularity.Addressing the issue directly, he said, “Two thousand for a tweet, four thousand for a reel, ten thousand for a dance… stop this trend for the love of God.”

A song designed to last

Anirudh emphasized that he wanted Aravindh to have a lasting impact rather than become just another fleeting viral sensation. Sharing his confidence in the track he said, “I will have you hooked the first time and another time. It’s time for the loop mode to be activated, and the song will outlast the hype.”The composer believes memorable music should continue connecting with listeners long after initial excitement fades away. That philosophy appears to be a key driving force behind the creation of Aravindh.

Reunion with super Subu and future plans

The song also reunites Anirudh with lyricist Super Subu. The duo previously worked together on the popular track Hukum from the blockbuster film ‘Jailer’.Ahead of the release the makers generated curiosity through a unique promotional campaign with messages such as “Who is Aravindh?” and “Aravindh will meet you tomorrow”.Meanwhile, Anirudh continues to dominate the music scene with several major projects. His recent songs, including “Aaya Sher” from ‘The Paradise’ and the title track from DC are trending on social media handles.
