Angelina Jolie’s long-anticipated move from Los Angeles

Jolie has been vocal about her desire to leave California. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in August 2024 she explained her previous reluctance to relocate. “I have to be here from a divorce” she stated at that time referring to her ongoing legal proceedings with her ex-husband. However, she also made clear her intentions once the situation changed. “But as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave” she said. The actress elaborated on what she values in a living environment and what she hopes to provide for her family. “When you have a big family you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here” she explained expressing her preference for the lifestyle and values she has encountered internationally.

Future travel and family priorities

According to the publication since finalizing her divorce from her ex-husband in 2024 after 12 years together “The kids have always been her priority.” The outlet reported that Jolie “has wanted them to experience the world and she’s excited that they can all do more of that together now.”Jolie has been explicit about her plans for international living. In her interview she outlined her vision for life after California. “I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world” she said indicating her intention to base herself in Southeast Asia while maintaining connections with relatives scattered globally.

The significance of the twins’ milestone

The timing of Vivienne and Knox reaching adulthood represents a turning point for Jolie, who has long prioritized her children’s stability and wellbeing. With all six children now legally adults, the family dynamics shift significantly allowing for greater flexibility in lifestyle choices and living arrangements that Jolie has been constrained from pursuing during the divorce proceedings.
