The first trailer for Andrew Garfield’s historical thriller drama film is here, and the actor is showing a completely new and rugged side of himself. Fans cannot get enough of the first look at the film and how Garfield is portraying Wat Tyler, the leader of the Peasants’ Revolt.

‘The Uprising’ trailer released

The trailer shows a grueling and bloody journey that thousands of peasants go on to reach King Richard 2 in order to usurp the throne and stand against those in power. Set around a time when the king was laying unimaginable taxes on the townsfolk and sending out collectors to get the payment, Garfield’s Wat Tyler emerges as the reckoning force who takes the first step in the trailer to punch a royal guard back. This gives rise to more and more followers joining his cause, as he comes to be known as The Ploughman. The film shows gruesome and bloody sequences of fights and battles taking place between peasants and the royal guard.

The trailer and first look into the violent historical drama film show fans a completely new side of the ‘Spider-Man’ actor. As war burns across England, he forms an army of the people to face the King’s might in a fight for justice and survival.”
