Political action thriller gets good reviews

Directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar, Ananthan Kaadu is mounted as a political action thriller with a period backdrop. The narrative explores conflicts rooted in violence and authority.ETimes awarded Ananthan Kaadu 2.5 stars out of 5. Our exclusive review stated, “Arya is presented as the central face of the film, but his character Vetrivel Kumaran, does not receive enough space to leave a lasting impact. His personal story gets tangled with several other narratives, and as a result, the emotional weight of his revenge is not fully felt. Murali Gopy performs with restraint and Indrans stands out in the serious portions. Vijayaraghavan, Dev Mohan, Appani Sarath, Santhi Balachandran, Nikhila Vimal, and the rest of the cast perform their parts sincerely. The action sequences are appreciable and are staged with energy. Film relies heavily on violence and stunts, which gradually makes the impact of these sequences feel repetitive.”DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and the data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
