Amid ‘Dhurandhar 2’ success, Gaurav shares letter from 1998 to his parents

Amidst 'Dhurandhar 2' success, Gaurav Gera shares his letter from 1998 to his parents, recalls early struggles

Actor Gaurav Gera is currently enjoying the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where he portrays Mohammad Aalam. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, has brought him widespread appreciation. However, the recognition comes after years of persistence and struggle.Taking a nostalgic turn, Gaurav recently shared glimpses of his early days by posting handwritten letters he wrote to his parents back in 1998—shortly after moving from Delhi to Mumbai to chase his acting dreams. On Sunday, he posted images of two letters from that time, along with a heartfelt caption: “This letter to my parents – 3rd Dec 1998 .. less than a month that I moved to Mumbai this is 28 years ago .. so no emails , Letters.. of course after that lots tv , some films , ad films , musical play , Radio , TikTok , Reels .. been a lovely journey with ups and downs .. God has been kind.. but this Dhurandhared .. dunno what future holds .. but I wanna thank my 23 year old self for staying hopeful and Ma Pa for endless support #DhurandharTheRevenge.”The letters offer a candid look into his early struggles and aspirations. In one, he wrote, “Dear Mumma and Papa, How are you guys? I’m really well over here. Nothing has materialized on the money front for me but I hope to do well soon. There’s a lot of work here compared to Delhi.” He continued, “In the mornings, I meet various people for work and evenings have my rehearsals. The play is a musical “Man Of La Mancha.” It’s a very well-known musical and it’s a prestigious group to be associated with.”Detailing his modest living conditions, he added, “The place I stay in is a small cottage and will be easy on the pocket also. Thousand rupees if me and Rajesh share we can give 11 months’ rent in a go also. Other expenses include telephone, electricity, gas and water bills and food. Mumma and Papa, the future is bright but I still have a lot to learn. It does take time to know the right people, so please understand. I’ll be heavy on your pocket, but trust me, not for long.”The post struck an emotional chord with many, including his Dhurandhar 2 co-star Aditya Uppal, who commented, “bhai yar It got me teary man @gauravgera.” Naveen Kaushik wrote, “Aur tab pata na tha ki aapki kahani itni khuubsoorat ho jayegi ek din.” Karan V Grover shared, “Great journey gera … Happy for u . Lage raho.”Faisal Malik reacted with a red heart emoji, while singer Harshdeep Kaur commented, “Thank you for entertaining us all these years!! More success & happiness to you!”Fans, too, were deeply moved. One user wrote, “Finally your work is getting its due credit,” while another added, “What a journey!” A third comment read, “Wow this is priceless.” Go to Source
