Amar Kaushik REACTS to rumours of Aneet replacing Kiara

Amar Kaushik breaks silence on rumours of Aneet Padda replacing Kiara Advani in ‘Shakti Shalini’ post 'Saiyaara's success: ‘We were just thinking who would fit’

Filmmaker Amar Kaushik has finally spoken up about Kiara Advani’s rumoured exit from his upcoming film ‘Shakti Shalini’. After weeks of speculation, the director behind hits like ‘Stree’ and ‘Bhediya’ has cleared the air once and for all. Putting an end to the buzz that the ‘Kabir Singh’ actress was replaced by ‘Saiyaara’ breakout star Aneet Padda, Kaushik clarified that no casting decision had ever been finalised.

Shakti Shalini rumours create massive online buzz

For more than a month, ‘Shakti Shalini’ dominated entertainment headlines. At first, reports suggested Kiara Advani was set to play the lead in Amar Kaushik’s next horror comedy. Soon, new rumours began circulating that Aneet Padda had taken her place. The speculation finally came to rest when the end credits of ‘Thamma’ revealed Aneet as the film’s leading lady.

Amar Kaushik clarifies confusion about casting

In a recent chat with Filmygyan, Amar Kaushik shared the real story behind the rumours. He said, “Kiara is a beautiful actor. Nothing was confirmed, so I don’t know how it came out. I have always wanted to work with Kiara. When you write a story, you have an idea, and as you develop it further, you realise who is fit for which character. When ‘Saiyaara’ came out, we were still in the process of writing (‘Shakti Shalini’).”When asked whether Kiara was ever finalised before Aneet’s success, he firmly denied it, saying, “Nobody was locked. There was nothing like it. We were just thinking who would fit. Sometimes, even we don’t know the full story, but someone leaks something.”

Aneet Padda officially joins horror comedy universe

‘Shakti Shalini’ was officially teased on 20th October through the end credits of ‘Thamma’. The reveal confirmed Aneet Padda as the title character, marking her entry into the popular horror comedy universe. The franchise, which already includes hits like ‘Stree’ and ‘Bhediya’, is now gearing up to expand further with this new addition. Go to Source
