Amaal opens up on ‘me too’ allegations on Anu Malik

Amaal Mallik speaks about 'me too' allegations on Anu Malik as Nehal Chudasama accuses him of touching her inappropriately: 'Not going to support...'

Composer Amaal Mallik has been in the news ever since he spoke about cutting ties with his family. And now he’s in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house. Before going into the house, Amaal had opened up on his family, his uncle Anu Malik in an interview as well. He had reacted to the ‘me too’ allegations on him and now while he’s in the ‘Bigg Boss 19’ house, he again spoke about it during his fight with fellow contestant, Nehal Chudasama. The latest ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode was hosted by Farah Khan and it was filled with confrontations, and revelations. Neha had accused Amaal of inappropriate behaviour. He thus opened up on his family’s past and ‘me too’ allegations on his uncle Anu Mallik. When Farah addressed Nehal’s allegations, Amaal grew visibly emotional and chose to share something personal with her. Though the broadcast muted the name, it was clear that he was referring to composer Anu Malik’s MeToo controversy. Amaal recounted how the incident had affected his family and why he had distanced himself from it.He said, “Nehal, I’ll tell you something very serious. Anu Malik is already blamed for this nonsense, and I’m not like that. When it happened, he called my father, saying that he needed our support. I straight-up said in an interview that my family is my mom, dad, Armaan, his wife, and my dogs. I said I am not going to support it because there’s no smoke without fire.” The tension had sparked during a captaincy task, where Nehal was given the role of a ‘writer’ and Amaal a ‘duster.’ While Nehal played aggressively, Amaal went about his task calmly. Things escalated when Nehal lay down on the floor during the challenge and later accused Amaal of touching her inappropriately. The charge left him shaken, leading to an emotional breakdown. Despite his repeated apologies, Nehal remained distant, saying her reaction stemmed from past trauma.Farah Khan later scolded Amaal for apologising to Nehal even when he was not at fault. The choreographer, director said, “Nobody knows what exactly happened during the task other than Amaal, Nehal, and us who saw it. And it was made into such a big issue.” She further told Nehal, “First of all, you have hit Amaal in a place where you shouldn’t have, we are not saying it was intentional, it just happened. The task was physical, which made you think it was a mental task.” She then told Amaal, “You knew you were correct, then why did you go overboard in apologising. I wanted to come there and slap you.”The mood lightened later in the episode when Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi joined Farah Khan to promote ‘Jolly LLB 3’. Interacting with the housemates, Arshad took a moment to applaud Amaal’s journey and dedication.”Yeh saare gaane Amaal ne hi likhe hai. Jab sab bache neeche khelte the, tab woh riyaaz karta tha. I’m so proud of you,” he said. Go to Source
