Alka Yagnik addresses health concerns after wheelchair video from Padma awards goes viral, says she is recovering well; thanks President Droupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi

Veteran singer Alka Yagnik who has mesmerised fans with her voice and iconic songs for decades left fans concerned as she was spotted in a wheel chair recently. Yagnik was conferred with a Padma Bhushan for her contribution to the field of arts and Indian music, cinema. The singer had earlier opened up on a rare hearing disorder. Since then, she’s been on a sabbatical and made a rare appearance at the Rashtrapati Bhavan for getting her Padma Shri from President Droupadi Murmu. A video of Yagnik from the ceremony in a wheel chair went viral on the internet and sparked major concern among her fans who wished her a speedy recovery. The singer has now addressed these concerns and given an update on her health. She took to Instagram on Thursday and said in a note, “Thank you for your love, concern and countless good wishes. I have seen the concern surrounding a video from the ceremony and would like to assure everyone that I am well and progressing positively in my recovery. After a long and memorable day at the Padma facilitation, I was simple fatigued and requested a wheelchair while leaving.” She added, “Please do not worry. I am feeling much better and remain deeply grateful for the prayers and support that continue to strengthen me. My heartfelt thanks to the Hon’ble President Of India, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Minister of Home Affairs and the Government of India for this tremendous honour. Let us celebrate this joyous occasion together. With gratitude and love, Alka Yagnik.” Fans showered love on Yagnik’s post and wished her a speedy recovery.
