Alia says her bond with Ranbir changed after Raha

Alia Bhatt says her bond with Ranbir Kapoor changed after Raha, and why they opted for a private wedding: ‘We are home bodies’

On the latest episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle, Alia Bhatt opened up about her marriage with Ranbir Kapoor, the easygoing dynamic they share, and why they chose to get married at home instead of going for a big Bollywood bash.

Playful banter keeps the spark alive

Alia said that from the very beginning, her relationship with Ranbir was more about friendship than the typical filmi romance. “Ranbir and I have a natural friendship. So, it was never dewy eyed or rose tinted sort of a relationship. There was always a relationship of best friends,” she explained, adding that what drew her to him was his nature. “I married him because he is wonderful to me, and just as a human being.”The actress also described their playful equation, which often involves pulling each other’s leg. “100% the person I love trolling the most is him. And the person he loves trolling the most is me. And I feel, that is a very natural dynamic between two people.”

Raha changed everything

Alia reflected on how things changed after the birth of their daughter Raha. According to her, the arrival of their little one transformed their bond into something deeper. “Our bond has changed after we have had our daughter, it’s totally different. We are a unit now. Way more a unit than perhaps before,” she said.

Why a private wedding felt right

The actress then revealed why the couple opted for a private wedding in their own home instead of a large-scale celebration. “We are home bodies, very socially awkward. We just wanted the closest people in our lives with us. I did not want to be attending to people on our wedding,” Alia shared. While several venues were considered, the couple eventually decided that home was the best choice. “We said we’ll go on vacations to those places instead. So, we chose to get married at home and keep it super chill.”
