Akshay’s co-star had a secret nikaah with THIS cricketer, left Bollywood after that

Akshay Kumar's co-star who resembled Madhuri Dixit had a secret 'nikaah' with THIS popular cricketer who left his wife and kids, here's what she's doing now

The 1990s was a golden period for Bollywood, producing some of the industry’s biggest stars and unforgettable success stories. It was also an era when a single hit film could catapult a newcomer to instant fame. One such actor was Farheen Khan, who quickly became one of the most promising faces of her generation before choosing a very different path for her life.Farheen, often remembered for her striking resemblance to Madhuri Dixit, entered Bollywood with Deepak Balraj Vij’s ‘Jaan Tere Naam’ in 1992 opposite Ronit Roy. The film turned out to be a major success, and the fresh pairing won over audiences across the country. Almost overnight, Farheen found herself in the spotlight, with many predicting a bright and long-lasting career ahead.Soon after her debut, she landed an opportunity that could have changed the course of her career. Farheen was offered a role in Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster ‘Baazigar’, which was eventually played by Shilpa Shetty. However, she chose to turn down the project in favour of making her Tamil debut alongside Kamal Haasan in ‘Kalaignan’. While ‘Baazigar’ went on to become a massive success, ‘Kalaignan’ failed to make a significant impact at the box office. Despite the setback, Farheen continued working across both Hindi and South Indian cinema. She appeared alongside Akshay Kumar in films such as ‘Sainik’, ‘Dil Ki Baazi’ and ‘Nazar Ke Samne’. Her filmography also included titles like ‘Agni Prem’, ‘Fauj’ and ‘Tahqiqaat’, among others. As her acting career progressed, Farheen’s personal life took centre stage. In 1993, she met former Indian cricketer Manoj Prabhakar, and the two soon developed a relationship. At the time, Manoj was dealing with difficulties in his first marriage. The couple reportedly entered into a secret Nikkah in 1994, as Manoj had not yet been granted a divorce.Farheen and Manoj later welcomed two sons, Raahil and Manavansh. While Raahil has been pursuing acting and has reportedly auditioned for several projects, Manavansh is currently studying in the United States. After Manoj’s divorce was finalised in 2008, the couple solemnised their relationship once again through a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony in 2009.Following her marriage, Farheen gradually distanced herself from the entertainment industry and settled in Delhi with her family. She later shared that stepping away from films was a conscious decision and that she was happy prioritising her role as a wife and mother over a continuing career in cinema.Today, Farheen leads a largely private life away from the glare of Bollywood. She recently returned to the screen with a brief appearance in John Abraham’s ‘The Diplomat’. In a podcast appearance, she revealed that she played Kumud Mishra’s wife in the film, but most of her scenes were ultimately removed during the editing process to better serve the narrative.
