Akriti Agarwal ends BREAK UP RUMOURS with Prithvi Shaw

Akriti Agarwal ends BREAK UP RUMOURS with Prithvi Shaw: 'We are still engaged and happy together'

Actor Akriti Agarwal has opened up on the speculation surrounding her relationship with cricketer Prithvi Shaw after a spate of social media posts led to rampant speculation. Many took Akriti Agarwal’s cryptic Instagram Story as an indication of trouble in their relationship, with claims that the couple had called off their engagement. With the rumors gaining momentum on the internet, Akriti Agarwal decided to clear the air and stated that the assumptions were completely wrong.

Akriti Agarwal dismisses separation rumours

Responding to the growing speculation, Akriti Agarwal shared a detailed clarification on Instagram and stressed that her earlier post was never about Prithvi Shaw. “I just want to clear something up. I never mentioned my fiancé’s name, nor did I say that our engagement was called off or that we had separated. It was unfortunate that many people assumed it was about him. We are happy together, still engaged, and doing absolutely fine,” she wrote. Akriti Agarwal also pointed out how quickly public figures become the target of rumours. “A single post, without any names or context, can lead people to draw conclusions that aren’t even true,” she added.

Akriti Agarwal says rumours unfairly affected Prithvi Shaw’s reputation

The actor admitted that she never intended to issue a clarification but felt compelled to speak after the rumours began affecting her fiancé’s image. “I never wanted to post this clarification. But when my partner’s dignity became the subject of so many posts, I had to respond. People in the public eye are constantly judged based on speculation rather than facts,” she said. Akriti further revealed that the original Instagram Story had been meant only for her close friends. “One small mistake has ended up costing the person I love his reputation. Even now, I don’t want to reveal who that story was actually about because I believe karma will deliver justice in its own time,” she wrote.

Couple continues to share happy moments despite online rumours

The controversy began after Akriti Agarwal posted a cryptic message mentioning betrayal without naming anyone, prompting many social media users to assume that it referred to Prithvi Shaw. She later shared another Story saying, “Misunderstood by many!” , before issuing her detailed clarification. Despite the online chatter, the couple continues to display their relationship publicly. Their engagement photographs remain pinned on Akriti Agarwal’s Instagram profile, while Prithvi Shaw has also shared several affectionate posts celebrating their engagement and special occasions. Now, the speculation has been put to rest with Akriti Agarwal’s latest statement confirming that the couple is very much together and that the viral speculation was based on a misunderstanding and not on facts.
