Aayush Sharma reveals why he still can’t call Salim Khan as ‘Dad’

'Don't have the COURAGE': Aayush Sharma reveals why he still can't call father-in-law Salim Khan as 'Dad' but ONLY with THIS name

When Aayush Sharma and Arpita Khan Sharma got married few years back in 2014, Aayush was 24, and many speculated that he had married Salman Khan’s sister to gain a foothold in Bollywood. More than 11 years later, the couple share a happy marriage and are parents to two children. However, Aayush says the assumptions surrounding their relationship have persisted. In a recent interview, the actor spoke candidly about the trolling he continues to face over his marriage and revealed that he has learned to take it in his stride with a sense of humor. In conversation with Lallantop, Ayush shared, “Initially, people’s comments about my intention behind marrying Arpita used to hurt me. But over the years, it has stopped bothering me. Arpita and I have completed 11 years of marriage. Our son is 10, and our daughter is six. In these 11 years, I have made only three films, none of which were blockbuster hits. There is no real connection between my career and my family.”He added, “Sometimes people create a perception based on what they see, and that very easily turns into a narrative. I don’t pay attention to these things anymore. If I start reacting to these accusations, it would be like disrespecting my marriage. I don’t have to justify my relationship to anyone.”

Ayush reveals he still can’t address Salim Khan as Papa or Dad

During the same conversation, Aayush also opened up about his bond with Arpita Khan Sharma’s family. While he, like everyone else, addresses Salman Khan as “Bhai,” the actor revealed that he has never been able to call veteran screenwriter Salim Khan “Dad,” despite being encouraged to do so.“My relationship with him is different. To date, I haven’t gathered the courage to call him Dad. I admire him so much as a screenplay writer that my heart only wants to address him as ‘Salim Sahab.’ He is a legendary man. Most of the time, he speaks and I just reply. I feel very strange calling him Dad or Papa. I am a huge fan of ‘Deewar’, ‘Sholay’, and ‘Zanjeer’. My head is always bowed in front of him. I have never initiated a conversation with him. I see him in a different zone,” he said.

Arpita Khan and her relationship with the Khans

Arpita Khan Sharma is the adopted daughter of veteran screenwriter Salim Khan and actor Helen. She was adopted by the family after losing her biological mother and was raised alongside her siblings Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, and Alvira Agnihotri. Arpita married Aayush Sharma on November 18, 2014, in a grand ceremony at Hyderabad’s Falaknuma Palace. The couple are parents to two children—a son, Ahil, and a daughter, Ayat. Aayush hails from a prominent political family in Himachal Pradesh and is the grandson of former Union Minister Sukh Ram. Go to Source
