Daughter inspired him via disabled/senior runners’ spirit. Cameo in Happy Patel; producing Ek Din, eyeing Phalke biopic, Mahabharata.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon on Sunday alongside his former wife Kiran Rao and their children Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, and Azad Rao Khan. The family was seen engaging with the media post-run, during which Aamir and Kiran spoke on Mumbai’s worsening air quality issues.

Candid pollution response

When questioned on the city’s pollution, Aamir replied openly, “Haan abhi kya kare?” Reminded that Mumbaikars aren’t used to such conditions, he responded, “I know!” Kiran Rao expanded on the matter, highlighting the importance of collective efforts. “We all need to raise our voices, get involved, and understand the causes. Do our bit as citizens, get involved to change the AQI in our city,” she stated. Aamir nodded in agreement, adding, “Contribute in a positive way.”

Daughter’s motivation

During the chat, Aamir shared that his daughter motivated him to join this year’s marathon. Explaining his drive, he said, “Jo excitement humne dekha people with disabilities ke run mein aur senior citizens ke run mein, toh ab mujhe bhi laga ke har saal aana chahiye. Bahot kamal ka spirit hai Mumbai ka.”

Upcoming projects

On the work front, Aamir Khan recently appeared in a cameo in ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’, which he also produced. The actor is now producing ‘Ek Din’, featuring his son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, whose teaser has sparked audience interest. He is reportedly slated to portray legendary filmmaker Dadasaheb Phalke in Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming biopic, pending official confirmation, and has started production on his ambitious ‘Mahabharata’ project.
