Aamir on finding love at 60, bonding with ex-wives Reena, Kiran

Aamir Khan didn't expect to find love at 60, reveals girlfriend Gauri brings calm in his life; opens up on bonding with ex-wives Reena Dutta, Kiran Rao: 'Three people who contributed to me..'

Earlier this year in March, when Aamir Khan turned 60, he made his relationship official with girlfriend Gauri Spratt. He introduced her to the media and said that time that he’s been in a relationship for 18 months. He also expressed that now they felt it was the right time to make it official. Aamir was earlier married to Reena Dutta and then Kiran Rao, but he has always maintained a cordial rapport with both his ex-partners. Infact, they continue to remain like family to them. Kiran and Aamir also continue to work together; he had produced Kiran’s directorial, ‘Laapata Ladies’. In a recent interview, Aamir opened up on his equation with his exes and also about finding love at 60. At an event, Aamir revealed that his bond with Reena and Kiran remains respectful and affectionate. He told Hindustan Times, “I guess it shows we are good people. Matlab, what to say. Reena is an amazing person. She’s someone I have grown up with. I have spent 16 years with her, and the fact that we fell apart as husband and wife does not mean we fell apart as human beings. And I feel that there is a lot of love and respect in my heart for Reena and I truly value the time that I’ve spent with her. ”Aamir, who shares daughter Ira and son Junaid with Reena, further added, “I grew up with her actually. We were both very young when we married. And she’s a fantastic person. So when we had our differences and we parted, I think we didn’t part as human beings because we didn’t feel like, I guess. And the same was with Kiran.”Aamir and Reena married in 1986 and separated in 2002. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005, but the two amicably parted ways in 2021. Speaking about Kiran, with whom he has a son Azad, Aamir shared, “I think Kiran is an amazing person and she and I decided to part ways as husband and wife, but we are family. And I’m not kidding when I say that. I really mean it, we are family. So Kiran, her parents, my family, Reena, her parents, we are all actually one family.”During the interaction, Aamir also reflected on finding love again at 60, admitting he did not expect it. Talking about Gauri Spratt, he said, “No, I didn’t actually. I didn’t. To be very honest, I think I had reached a point where I felt I probably wouldn’t be able to find someone who can be my partner. I was not expecting it.”He further expressed how Gauri has brought peace into his life, saying, “Oh! She brings a lot of calm, she brings a lot of steadiness. She’s a really amazing person and I’m so fortunate actually and lucky I feel that I met her. To be honest I feel I’m very fortunate. While our marriages may not have worked, until our lives did, but I think I’m still very happy that I met Reena, Kiran and now Gauri in my life. There have been three people who have really contributed to me as a person in a very big way. I really look up to them in many ways.”On the professional front, Aamir was last seen in RS Prasanna’s sports comedy drama ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. He is currently gearing up for upcoming projects like ‘Mere Raho’, ‘Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos’ and ‘Lahore 1947’. Go to Source
