Khan family upset over public medical update

Meanwhile, the Khan family has reportedly expressed strong displeasure after a medical update regarding Salim Khan’s condition was shared publicly. According to reports, Salman Khan and his family were unhappy with the hospital’s decision to comment on the veteran writer’s health and have instructed authorities to maintain complete confidentiality going forward. Salim Khan was admitted on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Dr Jalil Parkar, who is overseeing his treatment, had informed the media that the haemorrhage was minimal and that the veteran writer was stable but on ventilator support. The statement, however, reportedly did not go down well with the family. Those close to the Khans said they believe medical matters should remain private. “Health is a private matter. Ideally, no updates should be shared with the media and any communication should be left entirely to the family, if and when they choose to address fans and well-wishers,” an insider was quoted as saying by Variety India. The insider further added that the family has clearly conveyed that no further details should be disclosed. Lilavati Hospital, which typically issues periodic updates in high-profile cases, has agreed to respect the family’s request. Any official statement, if issued, is now expected to come directly from the Khan family.
