‘120 Bahadur’: CBFC clears Farhan Akhtar starrer to release unchanged

‘120 Bahadur’: CBFC clears Farhan Akhtar starrer to release unchanged, while makers opt for strategic rollout - Report

‘120 Bahadur’, starring Farhan Akhtar, is gearing up for its theatrical release this Friday, November 21. The film has already generated buzz for its grounded storytelling and powerful message, especially after the team held paid previews across the country on Tuesday, November 18, which is unusually early for a Friday release. The film’s trailer has impressed audiences for its realism and intensity, building strong anticipation ahead of its arrival.

Strategic release planned across select theatres

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, distributors and producers have opted for a carefully planned, limited release strategy designed to reach the film’s core audience. A trade source told the outlet that the team wants the war drama to release primarily in theatres frequented by urban, elite and content-driven cinegoers.

‘120 Bahadur’ Trailer Out, Salman Khan Praises Farhan Akhtar’s Action Drama!

The source explained that the film is expected to open in 900 to 1000 screens, with the possibility of expanding shows based on audience demand over the weekend. The strategy also avoids box office friction with ‘Mastiii 4’, which releases on the same day but targets a completely different crowd in mass circuits and single screens.

CBFC clears ‘120 Bahadur’ with zero cuts

One standout update for ‘120 Bahadur’ is that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film without any cuts. After the trailer was shown in theatres with the dialogue “Ahir hai hum” replaced by “Fauji hai hum,” many viewers assumed that the CBFC had forced a modification. This led to online backlash and speculation. However, according to reports the dialogue remains intact in the final film. The CBFC did not mandate any audio or visual cuts, noting that the action sequences were impactful but not excessively graphic. ‘120 Bahadur’ was granted a U/A 13+ certificate on November 6. The film runs for 2 hours and 17 minutes.

About ‘120 Bahadur’

Directed by Razneesh Ghai, the war drama narrates the heroic real-life story of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati and the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Farhan Akhtar plays the lead role, with Raashii Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan lending their voices as narrators. The film is set to release on November 21, 2025, and promises to bring one of India’s most unforgettable military stories to the big screen. Go to Source
