A bronze statue of Edwin Lutyens stood tall in the central courtyard of Rashtrapati Bhavan for years. However, the British architect’s bust has been replaced with that of India’s first and only Governor-General, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari. The move, according to President Droupadi Murmu, is a step towards shedding India’s colonial mindset
