Bhairav Battalions: Inside India’s ‘lean and mean’ elite Army unit that can launch surprise attacks on the enemy

The Indian Army is set to get more lethal. In the next six months, it will raise 25 Bhairav Battalions. Soldiers in these units will serve as a bridge between the regular infantry and the Special Forces. They will be trained to carry out high-impact missions such as surprise attacks, counter-insurgency, and border patrols
