UK government approves China’s controversial mega-embassy in London

The massive embassy project — sometimes called a “mega-embassy” — would be built at the historic Royal Mint Court, close to Tower Bridge and near central financial hubs. The site, purchased by China for around £255 million in 2018, is intended to house Beijing’s largest diplomatic presence in Europe
