Japan says rare earths found in seabed sediment in step towards self-sufficiency

In a step towards realising self-sufficiency in rare earths extraction and processing, Japan has announced that it has found rare earths in sediment from ocean depths of 6,000 metres (about 20,000 feet) on a test mission.
