Blasts near Katara district are believed to be aimed at top Hamas officials, gathered to discuss Trump-backed Gaza ceasefire proposal, according to a report
Multiple explosions were heard in Qatar’s capital, Doha, on Tuesday, according to eyewitnesses cited by Reuters.
Smoke was seen rising over the Katara district, a prominent area in the city, witnesses reported.
According to Reuters, citing Israel media, the attack was aimed at top Hamas leaders including Khalil al-Hayya, its Gaza chief.
Meanwhile, a senior Hamas source told Al-Jazeera that the explosions were intended to target Hamas negotiating delegation as it was convening in Doha to discuss President Donald Trump’s proposal for a Gaza ceasefire.
