Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he ‘deeply appreciates and fully reciprocates’ US President Donald Trump’s sentiments that the two world leaders would ‘always be friends’ despite tensions.
In a response to US President Donald Trump’s assertion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he “deeply appreciates and fully reciprocates” the American leader’s sentiments. While addressing the reporters in the Oval Office on Friday, Trump said that despite tensions in the India-US relations, he will always remain “friends” with the Indian Prime Minister.
“Deeply appreciate and fully reciprocate President Trump’s sentiments and positive assessment of our ties,” the Prime Minister wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, sharing a clip of Trump admitting his strong ties with Modi. “India and the US have a very positive and forward-looking Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership,” he added.

Tensions between the two nations reached an all-time high after Trump imposed nearly 50 per cent tariffs on Indian goods, complaining about New Delhi’s purchase of Russian oil. In response to this, India called the tariffs “unfair”, pointing out how China is not receiving similar scrutiny despite the fact that it purchases more oil from Russia than India.
This is a developing story.
