About 91 students remain trapped after the school building collapse in Indonesia

During the Monday afternoon prayers in Indonesian school building at least 91 students remain buried resulting in the death of three students

During the Monday afternoon prayers at the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding Islamic School in the East Java town of Sidoarjo, Indonesia the building collapsed which resulted in 91 students being trapped for two days in concrete rubble as informed by the authorities after examining the reports and records.  

Rescue and relief workers reached at the site to save the survivors on Wednesday morning after the falling of the structure resulting in the death of three students and 100 injured as confirmed. Most of the students identified were teen boys and the females managed to escape as stated by the survivors.

The National Disaster Management Agency updated its figure late Tuesday raising the numbers of people who were buried in the rubble from 38 to 91.  

According to a news agency Reuters, around six people are alive under the rubble but the heavy and solid substance could not be cleared and it could cause further collapse. Food service, oxygen, water have been provided by the rescuers to those believed to have been trapped under the debris.

The prayer hall was centuries old and police officials said that the old building’s foundation could not withstand the two concrete floor and resulted in collapse.
