Zelenskyy Thanks US First Lady For Letter To Putin, Tells Trump: ‘My Wife Sent One To Yours’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday thanked US First Lady Melania Trump for sending a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he met with US President Donald Trump at the White House.

Speaking during a joint media briefing, Zelenskyy revealed that his own wife had also sent a letter to the US First Lady.

“I also thank your wife, First Lady of the United States, she sent a letter to Putin to talk about our children and my wife has also sent a letter for your wife,” Zelenskyy told Trump.

He also expressed appreciation to President Trump for inviting him to Washington and for his push to end the war. “Thank you for the invitation and for your efforts to stop killing and this war,” he said.

The two leaders are holding high-stakes talks aimed at exploring a possible peace deal with Russia.

Zelenskyy also took a moment to thank Ukraine’s key allies, including France, the EU, Finland, the UK, and Germany, for their continued support.

“I also thank all the partners, France, EU, Finland, UK, Germany for supporting us,” he added.
