Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah, an Indian-origin motel manager in Texas, was brutally killed by his co-worker on Friday. A horrific video of the incident, being widely circulated online, shows the accused, a Cuban immigrant, Cobos-Martinez, chasing Nagamallaiah before beheading him.
Nagamallaiah was beheaded in front of his son and wife, who, despite trying, couldn’t save him. The incident has left everyone shocked. CCTV footage of the incident shows Cobos-Martinez retrieving a machete and attacking Nagamallaiah.

Another clip going viral captured the accused carrying the beheaded head to a dumpster and placing it inside after kicking it twice.
Cobos-Martinez was arrested in connection with the case and has been charged with capital murder.
Who Is Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah?
- The 50-year-old motel manager, Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah, hailed from Karnataka.
- He used to work as a manager of the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard for the last five years.
- His friends and family called him ‘Bob’.
- He had been living in the United States since 2018.
- Before settling in Dallas, he used to live in San Antonio.
- Nagamallaiah studied at Indiranagar Cambridge School and later pursued his higher education at National College, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, as mentioned in his Facebook profile.
Why Was Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah Killed?
According to an arrest affidavit, Nagamallaiah was attacked over a dispute about a broken washing machine. The accused got infuriated after Nagamallaiah did not communicate directly with him and asked a female colleague to pass on the instructions to him.
Cobos-Martine, who is a Cuban citizen, also has a criminal history and had been arrested earlier for auto theft and assault. He was released from jail in January.
Donald Trump’s Reaction
US President Donald Trump also reacted to the beheading incident, saying that the time for being soft on illegal immigrant criminals was over under his administration.
“I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well-respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should have never been in our Country,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
