Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old right-wing talk show host and political activist, was shot at during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10, according to local media outlet The Deseret News.

Kirk was on campus to kick off his national speaking series, “The American Comeback Tour,” when the incident occurred. Known for his controversial campus appearances and his “Prove Me Wrong” table format, where he publicly debates students and audience members, Kirk’s events often attract both supporters and critics.

The shooting comes amid heightened tensions surrounding his tour. According to The Deseret News, over 6,000 people have signed a petition urging Utah State University to cancel Kirk’s upcoming appearances at the campus.

In response to the incident, US President Donald Trump posted a message on Truth Social, offering support and prayers for Kirk’s recovery. “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” the president wrote.

FBI Director Kash Patel also issued a statement, confirming that the agency is monitoring the situation closely. “Agents will be on the scene quickly, and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation,” Patel stated.

As of now, there have been no official reports on injuries or suspects, and authorities have yet to confirm whether the shooting was politically motivated. The investigation remains ongoing.
