A women’s rights activist in California staged a dramatic protest during a school board meeting by stripping down to a bikini while objecting to a policy that allows transgender students to access girls’ locker rooms. Beth Bourne, who heads the local chapter of the conservative group Moms for Liberty in Yolo County, appeared at the Davis Joint Unified School Board meeting and said she wanted to give members “an idea” of what girls are asked to do in school locker rooms.
Midway through her comments, she removed her clothes to reveal a bikini, drawing immediate objections from board officials. The board interrupted her speech and called a brief recess. When the meeting resumed, Beth Bourne again attempted to make her point by undressing, prompting a second break and eventually police involvement, according to reports.

Beth Bourne said she resorted to such drastic action after attending board meetings for three years without seeing policy changes.
“If adults don’t feel comfortable watching me undress, how can young girls feel comfortable in the same situation?” she argued.
School officials, however, condemned the protest as trustee Cecilia Escamilla-Greenwald described the act as “very inappropriate” and said the board would consult its legal counsel on how to deal with similar disruptions in the future.
