The Ukrainian Navy’s reconnaissance ship Simferopol, the largest vessel commissioned by Ukraine in over a decade, was struck and sunk by a naval drone, the Russian Defence Ministry announced on Thursday.
The Laguna-class, medium-sized ship, equipped for radio, electronic, radar, and optical reconnaissance, was hit in the Danube River’s delta, located in Ukraine’s Odessa Region, according to a Defence Ministry statement as reported by RT.
