US President on Tuesday said that Ukraine was now in position to “fight and WIN” the war against Russia”.
“After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine/Russia Military and Economic situation and, after seeing the Economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Tuesday.

The post came shortly after Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian resident Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Previously, Trump had said that Ukraine would need to give up some of its territory in order to secure a peace deal with Russia. However, Trump had been frustrated with Russian President Vladimir Putin over his resistance to peace talks, CNN reported.
“Russia has been fighting aimlessly for three and a half years a War that should have taken a Real Military Power less than a week to win. This is not distinguishing Russia. In fact, it is very much making them look like ‘a paper tiger’. When the people living in Moscow, and all of the Great Cities, Towns, and Districts all throughout Russia, find out what is really going on with this War, the fact that it’s almost impossible for them to get Gasoline through the long lines that are being formed, and all of the other things that are taking place in their War Economy, where most of their money is being spent on fighting Ukraine, which has Great Spirit, and only getting better, Ukraine would be able to take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that! Putin and Russia are in BIG Economic trouble, and this is the time for Ukraine to act. In any event, I wish both Countries well,” Trump said.
He also pledged to continue supplying weapons to NATO, adding that NATO could “do what they want with them.”
Following the meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy said that the talks on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly was “very good.”
Speaking to the Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne, he said, “Today’s meeting was very good. It’s too early to talk about any specific elements of the meeting, a little later.”
At the UN meet,  Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska called on the international community to do more to bring home Ukrainian children who have been taken to Russia since Moscow launched its unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, CNN reported.
She warned that at current rate, it would take 50 years for all Ukrainian children that have been taken to Russia, to return home.
She added that through the efforts of an international coalition of 41 countries and the Council of Europe, 1,625 children have been returned to Ukraine.
Earlier in the day, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she discussed Russia’s “regular incursions” into European airspace with the US President.
“We discussed Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine,” von der Leyen said in a post on X. “We also addressed the Kremlin’s provocations, including regular incursions into European airspace.”
She pointed out that these incursions were “clear attempts to test our response.” “Europe is speeding up its defence efforts to strengthen its Eastern flank. It must act as a shield for both Europe and NATO,” she added.
