US President Donald Trump said that the US and China have reached a deal that will allow TikTok to continue operating in America, with its US assets to be transferred from Beijing-based ByteDance to US owners. The announcement could mark the end of a long-running dispute that has cast uncertainty over the future of the short-video platform.

TikTok, which has more than 170 million users in the US, has been at the center of months of negotiations between Washington and Beijing, against the backdrop of escalating trade tensions between the world’s two largest economies.
