Gold Card offers a fast-tracked route to US residency

In a sweeping series of immigration and visa-related policy announcements made on Friday, US President Donald Trump unveiled the new Gold Card visa program, aimed at attracting top-tier talent and high-net-worth individuals to the US. According to US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, the initiative is designed to benefit “extraordinary people at the very top.”

The Trump Gold Card comes with exclusive privileges for both individuals and businesses. The official website for applications is already live, and prospective applicants can begin the process immediately. In addition to the Gold Card, the Trump administration is preparing to launch a Trump Platinum Card in the near future. This option will allow individuals to reside in the US for up to 270 days per year without being subject to tax on non-US income, and without needing a travel visa.

What Is The Trump Gold Card And Who Can Apply?

The Trump Gold Card is a new premium immigration visa designed for individuals who can demonstrate a substantial benefit to the US. Unlike the traditional Green Card, which involves a longer and more complex path to residency, the Gold Card offers a fast-tracked route to US residency.

To qualify, applicants must make a $1 million “gift” to the US as part of their commitment to contributing significant value to the country. This program is intended for elite individuals, such as investors, entrepreneurs, and global influencers, who bring measurable benefit to the US economy or society.

How To Apply For The Trump Gold Card?

Applicants must begin the process by paying a non-refundable processing fee. Once the fee is received, their application enters the visa adjudication process, provided all necessary supporting documents are submitted in a timely manner. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will also conduct an extensive background check. If approved, the applicant will be required to make the $1 million contribution.

Gold Card vs Corporate Gold Card vs Platinum Card: Know The Difference

Trump Gold Card requires a $1 million contribution from individuals. Approved applicants are automatically granted US residency. Meanwhile, Trump Corporate Gold Card is designed for companies, and requires a $2 million contribution. It allows the sponsoring business to offer US residency to employees.

These cards are transferable within the organisation upon payment of a transfer fee and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clearance. An annual maintenance fee applies.

Trump Platinum Card is set to launch soon, and demands a $5 million contribution. It allows individuals to reside in the US for up to 270 days per year without being subject to tax on global income, and without requiring a visa.
