In a nationally televised address from the Oval Office on Tuesday, President Trump announced the official relocation of the US Space Command headquarters from Colorado to Huntsville, Alabama. As part of the announcement, the President also declared that Alabama will henceforth be recognised as “Rocket City,” a nod to its rich history in aerospace and defence, particularly around NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and the Redstone Arsenal.
President Trump emphasised the economic benefits of the move, claiming it will bring approximately 30,000 new jobs to the region and serve as a catalyst for technological innovation and investment. “This is a tremendous opportunity for the people of Alabama,” he said, describing the decision as a win for national security and American leadership in space.
