The Gen Z group, leading the protests in Nepal, on Tuesday announced that their movement has reached the decisive point of its victory as the KP Sharma Oli government collapsed.

The group demanded that properties of Oli and other political leaders be seized, and they should face “prosecution for crimes against humanity in the name of authoritarian repression”.

“The political corruption, decay, and repeated social betrayals of the old generation’s rulers have been completely exposed by Gen Z, bringing this movement to its most important and historic phase of success. Now, the nation stands on the threshold of a new system and the construction of a new future,” read the statement.

Gen Z also said public and private property attacks will not be allowed, while calling for activities of the movement to be conducted in an organised and disciplined manner. Until a permanent people’s system is achieved, martyrs’ sacrifices will remain the eternal source of inspiration, it said.

The group called for a meeting on Wednesday.

Gen Z’s Roadmap For Successful Conclusion Of Protests

1. An interim structure based on people’s sacrifices and values of equal life for all citizens will be built.

2. All power and positions held by Oli and other political leaders shall be nullified. Their property shall be seized, and they will face prosecution for crimes against humanity in the name of authoritarian repression.

3. A supreme people’s tribunal will be formed to investigate all incidents of violent repression and killings carried out by the state during this uprising.

4. The Constitution and provincial governments will be dissolved, and a new interim government will be established under Gen Z leadership.

5. The 2015 Constitution of Nepal will be scrapped, and a progressive restructuring process will be initiated to build a new framework based on inclusivity and people’s sovereignty.

6. Simultaneously, an effective system will be introduced to eliminate feudal remnants and the roots of corruption once and for all.
