Russia Denies Drone Incursion In Romania, Calls It ‘Deliberate Provocation’ By Ukraine

Russia called the drone incursion in Romania’s airspace provocation by Ukraine. Ambassador Vladimir Lipayev said Romania’s accusation was unfounded.

Russia on Monday denied Romania’s claim of Moscow violating its airspace. The Russian embassy in Romania said the drone incursion in Romanian airspace was a “provocation” by Ukraine.

The statement comes after Romania’s Ministry of National Defence summoned Moscow’s envoy.

As per a report by AFP, Ambassador Vladimir Lipayev said Romania’s allegation that Russia was responsible for the intrusion was “unfounded”.

“All the facts lead one to believe that it was a deliberate provocation by the Kyiv regime”, read a statement issued by the Russian embassy on late Sunday. The statement added that Romania had failed to “concretely and convincingly respond” to questions posed by Russia regarding the incident.
