The Kremlin said on Friday it expects the high-stakes summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska to last at least six to seven hours.

“You can expect that it will take up a minimum of six to seven hours,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Russia’s Channel One state TV ahead of the talks.

Peskov added that Moscow was hoping for a “productive” meeting between the two leaders, who are set to discuss key global issues, including the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The summit is taking place in Anchorage, Alaska, and marks the first face-to-face meeting between Trump and Putin since 2021. It is also Putin’s first visit to the West since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
