Days after Kristin Cabot, former Astronomer Human Resources head, who was the centre of relentless memes and trolling on social media due to the infamous ‘kiss cam scandal’ at a Coldplay concert with her boss Andy Bryon, announced that she had already filed for a divorce, her husband has said that they were “privately separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert”.

Kristin and Bryon were seen cuddling each other on the ‘kiss cam’ at Coldplay’s concert near Boston, Massachusetts, on July 16. The situation escalated when Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, commented mid-performance, saying, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Immediately after the camera focused on them, Bryon sat down quickly while Kristin turned away to hide her face. However, it was too late, and the moment sparked endless memes, commentary and speculations, particularly as the duo were married – not to each other.

Kristin, 52, filed a divorce petition from Andrew Cabot at a Portsmouth court in New Hampshire on August 13.

People magazine has quoted a spokesperson for Andrew as stating that he and Kristin “were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert.”

“Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening,” the spokesperson said. “Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”

The divorce would be the third for Andrew Cabot, the CEO of family company Privateer Rum and a descendant of a wealthy “Boston Brahmin” family.

He has two kids from a previous marriage and no kids with Kristin.
