Meghan Markle revealed new details about her early relationship with Prince Harry, including that the Duke of Sussex was the first to say “I love you”. Speaking in the second season of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex said she knew she loved Prince Harry by their third date, when the couple were camping together in Botswana.

The series also offers lighter glimpses of their life together. Meghan Markle said they eat “a lot of roast chicken” but admitted that Prince Harry is less adventurous than she is in the kitchen- even refusing to eat lobster.

Prince Harry himself does not appear on camera in the new episodes, nor do their children Archie and Lilibet, as the couple continue to shield them from public view. There are also no mentions of the Royal Family or the ongoing rift with senior royals.

Meghan Markle’s Lifestyle Empire

The show comes as part of Meghan Markle’s wider efforts to develop her lifestyle brand in the US. Alongside the series, she has launched her As Ever label, which sells products such as jars of wildflower honey and edible flower petals. Earlier this year she debuted her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, and she and Prince Harry recently signed a new multi-year production deal with Netflix, ensuring further projects with the streaming platform despite speculation their partnership might end.

Meghan Markle’s New Show

With Love, Meghan was filmed in a house near her Montecito home in California and features celebrity guests including Chrissy Teigen, John Legend and Queer Eye’s Tan France. In one episode, Meghan Markle talks about cooking breakfast for her family, describing it as a “sacred time” of calm before the day begins.

The first series divided opinion, becoming one of Netflix’s most watched shows but receiving mixed reviews. Some critics dismissed it as “narcissistic”, while others said it provided glossy escapism.

Royal commentators suggest that the Duchess of Sussex sees the programme as central to her public image. Royal expert Victoria Murphy said, “It is very important in terms of how she wants to be seen and the kind of public presence that she wants to have moving forward.”
