Two “strange” flyers aboard a Milan to London-Stansted Ryanair flight forced the pilot to divert the plane after one of them “ate his passport”, while another attempted to flush one down the toilet.
The Daily Star, which first reported the incident, said that other flyers noticed two men began to behave “strange” around 15 to 20 minutes into the journey.

Once the seatbelt signed was switched off, one of the men, seated at the front of the plane started ripping pages out of his passport and started eating them, “freaking out” fellow passengers in the process. While another attempted to “flush his passport down the toilet”.
“Staff were notified and went to see what was going on at the front of the plane. Suddenly, the whole mood changed – no one onboard knew what was going on; these people were acting weird,” a person familiar with the development was quoted as saying by Daily Star.
A flight attendant reportedly knocked on the lavatory door, attempting to stop the man from flushing his passport down the toilet.
Later, another crew member made a blunt announcement over the plane’s loudspeaker, explaining the situation, which left passengers visibly alarmed.
The flight was then diverted to Paris. The person mentioned above said that the incident was “the most terrifying 15 minutes of my life”. French authorities were waiting for the plane to land and arrested the two once the flight landed.
The person mentioned above also lauded Ryanair for handling everything ‘amazingly’ as the plane continued its journey to London after the two-hour incident.
