US President Donald Trump blamed “Deranged Radical Leftists” for the attack on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas where gunman Joshua Jahn, 29, killed one detainee and badly wounded two others on Wednesday.

Trump’s reaction to the incident came late Wednesday (local time) after police found an unused bullet with ‘ANTI-ICE’ scribbled on it.

“It has now been revealed the deranged shooter wrote “Anti-ICE” on his shell casings. This is despicable!”

Trump has expanded ICE’s mandate, ordering more arrests of undocumented immigrants, including those without criminal records. He has backed expedited removals and pushed local authorities to cooperate, even in sanctuary cities. His orders lifted previous restrictions on ICE operations in schools, hospitals and places of worship.

“The Brave Men and Women of ICE are just trying to do their jobs, and remove the “WORST of the WORST” Criminals out of our Country, but they are facing an unprecedented increase in threats, violence, and attacks by Deranged Radical Leftists,” Donald Trump said in a message posted on Truth Social.

He argued that “radical left Democrats” were to blame for stoking hostility toward ICE by portraying officers as Nazis and demanding the agency’s abolition, warning that this atmosphere of hate had now turned violent after Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted a photo on X of what he said was the suspect’s unused ammunition, showing the shell casing of one round inscribed with the phrase “ANTI-ICE” along the side.

“While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an ideological motive behind this attack,” Patel wrote.

All three victims were in a van outside the facility at the time, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement.

DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin also posted photos showing bullet holes in a window and a glass case holding an American flag.

In a statement DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said, “This vile attack was motivated by hatred for ICE.”

Democrats accused Republicans of selectively releasing information and trying to “control the narrative” to fit Republican arguments that ICE agents are under siege.

“If they are trying to control this narrative and they don’t want migrants to be the victim in this story, then they may want to slow-walk giving us any information about this so they can still keep on talking about attacks on ICE,” Democratic US Congressman Marc Veasey said.
