China Victory Day Military Parade 2025 LIVE Updates: China is holding its largest-ever military parade with 26 world leaders, including Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un in attendance, presenting the country’s military prowess and vision for the future. The parade marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Over 50,000 spectators are set to watch the parade at Tiananmen Square, which includes aerial displays, marching platoons of People’s Liberation Army troops as well as cutting-edge military equipment such as hypersonic missiles, unmanned drones and outfitted tanks.
Beijing is expected to unveil new weaponry, including what propagandists have described as “the most powerful laser air defence system in the world” during the parade. Hundreds of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft will be displayed in the parade, according to Chinese military officials.
The event will start on Wednesday at 9 am (01:00 GMT), according to China’s state-run Xinhua news agency. Notably, the last time China hosted a Victory Day Military Parade was 10 years ago.
