Conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem on Wednesday, September 10.

Graphic video from the event shows a single shot, chaos in the crowd, and Kirk collapsing as bystanders scramble for cover. UVU later announced a campus closure as authorities launched a major response.

How Did Charlie Kirk Die?

Kirk was addressing attendees under a tented setup on campus as part of his tour when a round struck him in the neck. Multiple outlets reported the shot was fired from an elevated position near the Sorensen/Centre Stage area (which can be seen in the video below), consistent with early law-enforcement accounts that pointed to a sniper-style attack. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
