Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has recommended a CBI probe into the leak of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) exam paper.

The CM informed about it while he was addressing a gathering in Dehradun Parade ground. Addressing the gathering, Dhami said that the government will recommend a CBI probe.

Speaking to the crowd, he said the decision was taken in response to the demands of the youth. “You all want the CBI to investigate it. I want to emphasise this to all of you, so that there’s no doubt in your minds: we recommend a CBI investigation,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that a Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by a retired High Court judge, has already begun its work and has been collecting evidence for several days. Dhami said he personally came to meet the protesters to understand their concerns and assured them of full government support.

He informed that the government has conducted over 25,000 recruitment processes transparently in the last four years. He also assured that the government is dedicated to addressing any doubts or mistrust among the youth.

Dhami also stated that his visit to the protest site was unannounced, as he wanted to personally meet the youth and hear their grievances. “I came here to see the pain and anger of the youth for myself. The government stands firmly with you,” he said.

In a major relief for the protesters, the Chief Minister announced that all cases registered against them during the agitation would be withdrawn. He urged the youth to have faith in the system and contribute to building a stronger Uttarakhand.

Calling this period the ‘Amrit Kaal’ of a developed India, Dhami said the youth would play a vital role in making Uttarakhand one of the leading states in the country.
