In a shocking case that has come to light from Odisha’s Bhadrak, a truck driver was caught on camera kidnapping a mentally-challenged woman from the roadside.
CCTV visuals from that night have stirred widespread outrage, capturing the moment the driver brazenly ran toward the woman and forced her against a pillar, even as streetlights glared and vehicles passed by.

According to the police cited by PTI, the woman had been living at the verandah of a shop near the police outpost at Charampa along NH 16, after she had taken shelter there on Thursday night, as it was raining heavily.

The police are still trying to catch the driver.
Speaking about the incident, Assistant SP of Bhadrak Abhisek Apurba Behera said a search is underway for the woman and the truck driver.
“We have also sought the help of the Truck Drivers’ Association and the NHAI,” he said
