A chilling discovery was made at Bhubaneswar railway station, where the body of a man was found hanging by a belt from the window of a toilet on the Bhubaneswar–Tirupati Superfast Express, after the train arrived from Tirupati late Friday night.

On Saturday morning, cleaning staff preparing the Bhubaneswar–Tirupati Superfast Express for departure discovered the body hanging in the toilet. A PAN card found in his pocket identified him as Mohammed Naseem, 41.

A scientific team led by Government Railway Police Inspector Ashok Kumar Gochayat has begun an investigation. “It looks like suicide at first glance,” Gochayat said, even as the circumstances of the death appeared unusual. The body, found hanging by a belt inside the train toilet, raised concerns that investigators are now examining closely.

Whispers spread through the station as uncertainty loomed over Naseem’s final moments. The scientific team meticulously examined the toilet for clues, yet each detail only deepened the mystery.

For a safe train journey, certain precautions are considered essential. Tickets should be booked only through trusted platforms. Extra vigilance is advised at major junctions such as Secunderabad and Kacheguda in Hyderabad. Luggage and valuables must be kept secure at all times, with doors and windows properly fastened during night travel. Sharing of personal information with strangers should be avoided, and caution is necessary while consuming food or drinks onboard.

In case of an emergency on a train, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) can be reached by dialling 139. Belongings should be kept close while boarding, and crowded areas are best avoided. Women and solo travellers are advised to remain vigilant at night, while children must always be kept within sight. With basic precautions, travel from Hyderabad to other destinations can remain safe and comfortable. As thefts are possible, carelessness must be avoided. Wearing valuables such as gold is not advisable, and caution should always be exercised.
