When Mohammad Gulfan saw Navjot Singh, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and others injured in the tragic accident near Delhi Cantonment metro station on Ring Road on Sunday, he did not wait for an ambulance. Unlike others who stood by making videos, he rushed the victims to a hospital in Azadpur.
Gulfan was coming from the Dhaula Kuan side when he noticed the injured lying on the road after the crash, surrounded by onlookers.

“I run a loading vehicle and was coming from the Dhaula Kuan side when I saw a few people injured in the accident. They were serious. I didn’t wait for the ambulance—others were making videos but weren’t helping,” he said.
“With the help of one uncle, I took them all to a hospital in Azadpur. After 20–25 minutes, the doctor declared Navjot Singh dead,” added Gulfan.
He further stated that Navjot’s wife, who was also severely injured, gave him an address, after which he visited their family.
“His wife was also severely injured. She gave me an address, so I came here to see their family. I tried to save all of them, but couldn’t,” he said.

On Sunday, the senior official of the Union Ministry of Finance was killed, and three people, including his wife, were injured after a BMW allegedly hit his motorcycle near Delhi Cantonment metro station on Ring Road.

The police received three PCR calls about a traffic jam near metro pillar number 67 on the Dhaula Kuan-Delhi Cantt stretch. On receiving the information, the officials reached the spot and found a BMW X5 lying sideways on the road and a motorcycle parked near the road divider.
Eyewitnesses told police that a woman was driving the car when it hit the motorcycle from behind.
Singh was driving the motorcycle, and his wife was riding pillion. They were rushed to a hospital in a taxi by the woman and her husband, who were in the BMW. The front portion of the car was mangled due to the impact of the collision, according to the eyewitnesses.
