Police said he had attended a party with friends at a bar, where an argument broke out over who would pay the bill. The student was allegedly pressured to cover the cost, which amounted to Rs 10,000.

According to a preliminary investigation, the situation escalated into a physical altercation. The student was reportedly beaten and insulted by some local youths. Before taking the drastic step, he recorded a video detailing what had happened to him.

In the video, he said that he had been taken to a bar against his will, forced to drink alcohol, and then made to pay the entire bill of Rs 10,000. He also alleged that he was threatened and physically assaulted, and spoke about the humiliation he faced.

“They beat me, insulted me, and forced me to pay,” he reportedly said in the video.

Police have registered a case and begun an investigation. They are examining the contents of the video and questioning individuals believed to be involved in the altercation. The student’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
