Speeding Car Plunges Into Sea From Mumbai’s Worli Coastal Road; Driver Rescued

A driver narrowly escaped tragedy after his car lost control at the Mumbai Coastal Road and plunged into the sea. The incident took place when the driver was trying to take a turn but he lost his control and the speeding car rammed into the railing and plunged about 30 feet into the sea.

The tragedy was averted due to swift action by by Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) jawans on patrol. They pulled him out of the water.

As per the local reports, the car remained submerged in the sea and efforts are underway to recover it.

Police suspect the car driver was under the influence of alcohol, and blood samples have been collected for testing.

The incident occurred as the car was heading towards Worli from Mahalaxmi.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to break through a railing and fall into the sea from a height of about 30 feet.

The MSF personnel noticed the car crash and they risked their lives by jumping into the water to save the vehicle’s occupant.

They rescued the car driver after some time and pulled him out of the water with the help of a rope. He suffered minor injuries in the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment, the official said.

A case was registered at Worli Police Station and a probe was underway into the incident, he said.
