Somalia-Bound Ship Carrying Rice, Sugar Catches Fire At Porbandar Jetty, Towed Out To Sea

A Jamnagar-based vessel belonging to HRM & Sons caught fire while anchored at Porbandar’s Subhashnagar Jetty on Monday.

Loaded with rice and sugar and bound for Bosaso in Somalia, the blaze intensified quickly, prompting three fire brigade vehicles to rush to the spot. Authorities later towed the ship to the middle of the sea to contain the flames.
