Shubhanshu Shukla returned to his hometown, Lucknow, on Monday for the first time after completing his historic space mission. He received a grand and heartwarming welcome at the airport, with flower petals showered on him and drums beating as crowds gathered to celebrate his arrival.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, along with several other officials, warmly received him upon his arrival. Videos shared online capture the enthusiastic crowd cheering and welcoming him as he landed in Lucknow.

Shubhanshu Shukla is an Indian Air Force Group Captain and test pilot who became the first astronaut from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to visit the International Space Station (ISS).
Reacting to her son’s arrival, Shukla’s mother expressed joy and said,”… My son is coming home after 1.5 years. I am very happy and excited to meet him after so long. We will welcome him warmly. The entire family is going to the airport to welcome him…”
