Heavy rain lashed Rajasthan, triggering waterlogging in several areas of the state. Video shared online shows parts of Sawai Madhopur, including the railway station.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Jaipur has predicted more showers for today, Friday, over many places in the Kota, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, and Jaipur divisions.

Continuous heavy rainfall across various districts of Rajasthan has severely affected daily life. In the Baran district, persistent rain has caused waterlogging, leading authorities to declare a holiday for all government and private schools today.
The district collector issued this order in response to the situation. Meanwhile, in Kota’s Itawa area, more than four inches of rain was recorded in the past 12 hours, worsening the waterlogging problem.
On Sultanpur Road, water levels have risen to three feet. Flood-like conditions have developed in Sultanpur and Digod towns, where roads are submerged under 2 to 3 feet of water.
Several shops and homes in these areas have been flooded, causing significant losses to shopkeepers. In Bundi district, continuous rainfall has caused the Shyamu River to swell, disrupting transportation. The bridge over the river in the Namana area has been flooded, blocking the road.
Additionally, heavy rains in Sawai Madhopur district have inundated the railway station and surrounding areas. The water level on the tracks at Sawai Madhopur railway station has reached two and a half to three feet, causing disruptions to train movement.
Rajasthan Weather Forecast
According to the weather office, rainfall is likely over many places in the Kota, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, and Jaipur divisions from August 22 to 26, 2025. On August 22, a few places in the Jodhpur division may receive rainfall.
Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions are also expected to witness rain at many locations on August 23 and 24. Meanwhile, rainfall is likely at several places in the aforementioned five divisions, while Jodhpur and Bikaner may receive rain at a few locations on August 25.
By August 26, widespread rainfall is once again expected in both Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, indicating a continued active monsoon phase across several regions of Rajasthan during this period.
However, no alert has been issued for any of these regions.
